RawHonest Natural Brain Booster Review Summary
True to its name, this stack is very simple, straightforward, and the manufacturers have clearly made a genuine effort to create a solid nootropic supplement. In other words, it can reasonably be described as an “honest” supplement.
As much as we like it when supplements try to do a lot with as little as possible, this needs to be done perfectly. If you get it wrong, you end up with a weak supplement that can’t stand up to the big boys. Unfortunately, this is what we see when we look at RawHonest Natural Brain Booster.
The formula isn’t comprehensive enough to really make a big difference to your cognitive function, even in the short term. If RawHonest had been more careful with their ingredient selection(like Zhou Nutrition did with Neuro Peak), or if they included some more potent nootropics, it would be a much better supplement.
Where To Buy RawHonest Products
Most people will see this stuff for the first time on Amazon. However, whenever possible, it’s best to buy supplements straight from the manufacturer. We can’t find an official online store for this product but if you can, check that out first.
Full Review Of RawHonest’s Natural Brain Booster
It’s easier than ever to make and market your own supplement brand. Gone are the days when only enormous pharmaceutical companies and sports brands can afford to get their own products to market; nowadays, anybody with a small amount of start-up capital, some knowledge of marketing, and a good wholesaler can launch their own nutrition brand.
That’s why the last few years has seen an explosion in the number of natural nootropic supplements available on the market. It seems that every other day, a new stack becomes available. Increasingly, third-party merchants are the main source of sales for these newcomers. It is on such a third-party site that we came across RawHonest Natural Brain Booster.
When you see a supplement manufacturer called “RawHonest”, you know that you can either expect a serious company producing natural, healthy supplements that actually work, or a gimmicky scam.
It seems that RawHonest offer a number of supplements: a probiotic, a testosterone booster, a teeth-whitener, and so on. Despite receiving mixed reviews, it seems that all of these products are far from scams. They all seem to be genuine attempts to offer good products to customers.
So what about Natural Brain Booster?
What is this supplement all about? What is it supposed to do?
As you can see, this supplement claims to offer the full range of benefits usually addressed by nootropic stacks. According to the manufacturer, we can expect Natural Brian Booster to deliver:
- Better brain health
- Lower stress levels
- Enhanced memory
- More clarity of thought
- Greater focus
As we said, that’s pretty much everything that can be addressed by natural brain supplements. Only the most comprehensive supplements on the market offer to go one further: promoting long-term cognitive improvements through neural adaptations.
But most supplements don’t even claim to hit all of these areas at once, so RawHonest are obviously being ambitious here. Good news!
So, the question we need to answer is: does RawHonest Natural Brain Booster actually work?
Is it capable of doing everything it says it is, or is it all just sales-babble?
Is it safe? What are the chances of you experiencing side effects?
Is there anything better out there?
We’ll try to answer all of these questions and more in our full review below. If you have any questions remaining at the end of the review, please let us know in the comments section.
RawHonest Natural Brain Booster Formula
Let’s get down to business. Any serious review of a nootropic stack needs to focus on the formula itself. RawHonest can say whatever they like about their supplements, but if the formula doesn’t contain the right ingredients, dosed how they need to be, then we know it’s all hype.
Here is the stack’s formula, as displayed on the bottle:
This is a very simple, uncluttered, economical formula.
RawHonest have only gone with four ingredients. They haven’t opted for things like glutamine or carnitine; things that have their place in a stack, but not as main ingredients.
Instead, they have chosen ingredients which are all thought to have serious nootropic properties.
In our opinion, the efficacy of one of these ingredients is debatable. But three out of four are undoubtedly superb natural nootropics.
What is unquestionable is that RawHonest have not purposefully wasted any room in this formula.
That said, we believe that parsimony can go too far.
While we do prize supplements that don’t stuff too many unnecessary ingredients into a single serving, we think RawHonest have sacrificed potency for simplicity here.
Let’s take a look at the ingredients themselves to better explain what we mean.
-Lion’s Mane Mushroom: What Is It?-
The Ingredients
The ingredients in RawHonest Natural Brain Booster are very good on the whole. As we said, the manufacturers have been very careful here. With just 4 ingredients, they’d have to be to even hope of offering the kind of benefits offered by the leading nootropic stacks.
Bacopa monnieri is one of our favorite natural nootropic substances.
Bacopa monnieri is widely used for its ability to enhance memory function.
Some clinical trials looking at bacopa’s effectiveness have found that it is able to improve instances of memory acquisition and recall after just 12 weeks of supplementation.
The extract used in RawHonest’s stack is only 20% bacosides. It is the bacosides in bacopa monnieri which give it its nootropic properties. As such, we want this number as high as possible.
Many serious stacks use an extract standardized to more than 40% bacosides. To compete with these guys, then, RawHonest would have to include almost 500mg of bacopa monnieri in Natural Brain Booster. But at that quantity, intestinal discomfort may well become an issue. A higher concentration and lower overall serving size would be preferable here.
Rhodiola Rosea is another good ingredient with robust scientific backing.
It has been used for a long time by traditional medicine practitioners from all over the world. Unlike lots of other herbal extracts touted as “magical” cure-alls, rhodiola rosea has been shown in numerous studies to have some very powerful nootropic properties.
For instance, more than one study has noted its ability to promote feelings of subjective well-being. This study found that rhodiola rosea was able to reduce the severity of some symptoms of depression. While the amounts used in this study were much larger than the amounts found in most supplements, large amounts of rhodiola don’t appear necessary to achieve results.
Rhodiola rosea is also noted for its ability to reduce stress-induced fatigue, as well as its ability to promote cognition more generally.
100mg of rhodiola rosea is plenty for a comprehensive nootropic stack.
Phosphatidylserine (PS) is a phospholipid. It is very similar in structure to dietary fat.
PS is an immensely important compound for human beings. It is a vital constituent of our cell membranes; without it, our cell membranes can’t form properly. It is crucial for cellular signalling; without it, our brain function is compromised.
Now, we do normally get plenty of PS through our diet. However, supplementation is a good idea if you want to ensure that your brain function remains at 100% all year round. While it wont have a profound effect like, say, Citicoline, caffeine anhydrous or Bacopa monnieri, it does help support brain function in the long-run.
We’re a lot less enthusiastic about Grapeseed Extract.
Granted, some people believe grapes have incredible health-promoting properties.
Many health food bloggers claim grapeseed extract is able to do wonderful things for your health.
But there is no evidence to suggest that this stuff is able to improve cognitive function, enhance mood, or even to support health and longevity in a significant way.
Some studies looking at grapeseed extract have found that it has mild health-promoting capabilities. For instance, this study found that grapeseed extract supplementation was able to reduce blood pressure.
Apart from that, we can’t find any robust scientific data backing up claims that this ingredient is worth including in a nootropic stack.
Thoughts On The Formula
Despite the fact that it contains some good ingredients, we don’t think this stack is going to deliver particularly good results for the vast majority of users.
To put it simply, it lacks any real potency.
There’s no big ‘punch’ to this stack.
With just 4 ingredients, the manufacturers were going to have to include nothing but the most powerful, reliable, and effective nootropic substances to even come close to competing with the leading stacks today. They did not achieve this.
Rhodiola rosea is a reliable nootropic, but it alone is unlikely to bring about profound improvements in focus, clarity or mental energy.
Phosphatidylserine is a good addition to a comprehensive stack, but if I had to limit myself to just 4 ingredients in constructing a stack, PS would not be one of them. It is a great ‘supporting’ substance, but it is certainly not a leading ingredient.
We aren’t aware of any studies proving that grapeseed extract has any nootropic properties at all. Any health and longevity-boosting properties it may have also seem to be quite mild.
Bacopa is a superb nootropic. However, the extract used here is quite weak, and most of our top rated stacks include far more than just Bacopa monnieri and a few supporting ingredients.
We appreciate it when manufacturers choose simplicity over stack stuffing, but RawHonest have wandered into “weak” and “boring” territory with Natural Brain Booster.
-Does Brain Training Actually Work?-
Side Effects
The chances of experiencing any side effects while using RawHonest Natural Brain Booster are very low.
It contains no stimulants, no synthetic brain drugs, and all dosages are sensible.
High doses of bacopa monnieri are known to cause some mild side effects; nausea, intestinal discomfort, gas, that kind of thing.
Some studies noting an increased incidence of side effects have used 300mg of bacopa monnieri per day.
Therefore, if you have a sensitive stomach, side effects might start troubling you after a few weeks of using this stack. If you do experience any nausea, stomach cramps, or any side effects at all for that matter, then discontinue use immediately and book an appointment with your regular doctor.
Review Conclusion – Should You Buy RawHonest Natural Brain Booster?
While we can tell that RawHonest have tried to make a genuine, effective nootropic stack here, we don’t think it will be what most of our readers are looking for.
Our readership is very varied. Some of our regular readers are students looking for some help during finals season. They don’t want to risk using something like Ritalin; they want healthy, genuinely effective, predictable brain supplements, not something that could backfire and ruin their exams.
Others are professionals who need some support staying on top of their game as work from clients keep pouring in.
The one thing that all of our readers have in common, however, is that they want some bang for their buck.
They all seek a supplement that will deliver noticeable, predictable, reliable improvements in memory, focus, mood or all three at once.
On that front, this stack doesn’t seem likely to deliver.
It is weak, with most of the ingredients being what we would call ‘supporting’ ingredients.
With the exception of grapeseed extract, they have a place in a comprehensive stack, but they are not main ingredients.
With such a small, simple formula, there isn’t really room for this kind of ingredient.
