Brain Bright Review Summary
Brain Bright is not a bad nootropic by any means. It contains some really good nootropics, provided in decent doses and in the form of quality extracts.
The only issue, if it can be called an issue, is that it isn’t a comprehensive stack. Its main benefits will be enhanced brain blood flow and decreased anxiety. There are no big memory boosters here. There are no cholinergics to rapidly increase focus and learning capacity. And there’s no long-term brain growth support.
If you want a product to help reduce your stress and anxiety, and mildly improve cognitive performance, then BioTrust Brain Bright is probably not a bad choice. If you want a powerful, comprehensive nootropic supplement to enhance every aspect of your cognitive function, as well as supporting long-term brain health and development, then look elsewhere.
Where To Buy Brain Bright
Biotrust Nutrition have an official Amazon store. We don’t think there’s any difference between buying direct from the manufacturer or through Amazon in this instance.
Full BioTrust Brain Bright Review
BioTrust Brain Bright is described as a “triple action brain enhancement formula”.
The tag line for this product, which appears down the side of the bottle, reads “lift up your drained brain”.
We can get a pretty clear idea of what this natural nootropic supplement is all about then. It bills itself as a comprehensive supplement which provides mental energy and focus.
The bottle states that we can expect the following key benefits from using Brain Bright:
- Improves mental focus and concentration
- Improves short term memory
- Supports brain health
The overall message we get from the official BioTrust Brain Bright merchant page is that this supplement is designed to provide calm, focused attention while promoting long-term health and well-being.
BioTrust themselves seem like a pretty serious supplement manufacturer. They currently have a very wide range of supplements on offer, including probiotics and omega-3 capsules. They are not a bodybuilding supplement manufacturer; all of their products seem to be geared towards long-term health and well-being.
This all sounds great, but is any of it true?
We can’t just take the manufacturers word for it.
We need to do a thorough Brain Bright review, starting with the formula itself. Below you will find a detailed discussion of the ingredients used in Brain Bright, the doses of these ingredients, as well as the likely side effects of using this natural nootropic.
As always, we encourage you to post any questions you might have to the comments section at the end. We aim to reply to all comments within 48 hours.
Brain Bright Formula
Here is the Brain Bright formula. We took this image directly from the official BioTrust Amazon page, so if you see any label which doesn’t look like this, inform the manufacturer immediately. We have seen more than one obvious rip-off on Amazon, and we don’t want you to get caught out!
This looks like a nice, clean, straightforward formula.
We prefer to see a supplement going hard with a couple of proven, effective nootropics rather than limping in with small amounts of 15-20 exotic (but useless) ingredients.
That said, we do think this formula is lacking in several areas.
There aren’t any big issues with what this supplement does contain, but there are issues surrounding what it doesn’t contain. The absences here are notable, and they severely limit what can be accomplished with this supplement (compared to more comprehensive stacks).
We’ll split the discussion of this formula up into what we like, and what we don’t like, about Brain Bright.
What We Like
All of the ingredients in Brain Bright contribute to better mental function and long-term brain health.
Ingredients like Tyrosine and Carnitine help reduce stress, increase motivation (via dopamine and noradrenaline synthesis support), and help improve performance while under acute mental or physical stress.
Both of these ingredients are dosed at the minimum effective dose for mental enhancement. That is fine; we expect nothing more from a comprehensive nootropic stack. They are really more supporting ingredients anyway.
The same is true of the vitamin stack; while B vitamins do provide a valuable lift in mental energy, they do not provide much of a boost beyond preventing excessive fatigue.
The main nootropic ingredients in Brain Bright are rhodiola rosea, theanine, and Ginkgo biloba.
These are all fantastic natural brain boosters. They all work in different ways to enhance cognitive performance, but they all work.
Ginkgo biloba is known to enhance cerebral blood flow. Importantly, it does this without simply raising systemic blood pressure (which would raise cardiovascular concerns). This means that it allows for greater oxygen and nutrient delivery to brain cells which might otherwise receive too little.
This is why Ginkgo biloba is constantly studied for its potential as a secondary treatment for age-related cognitive decline and related memory problems. While not a treatment in and of itself, it seems promising in its abilkity to attenuate the onset and severity of cognitive decline.
The dose found in Brain Bright is far more than you will find in any other natural nootropic reviewed on this site. The extract quality is also excellent, providing large quantities of the active components that make Ginkgo biloba such a potent nootropic.
In fact, it may be a little too powerful, leading to some side effect concerns (discussed later in the Side Effect section).
-Natural Anxiety Remedies-
There is also a very generous dosing of Rhodiola rosea in each serving of Brain Bright.
Rhodiola rosea is one of the most reliable and effective anxiolytics (anti-anxiety substance) on the market.
If using it consistently for a number of weeks, then 50mg per day is all you need to keep feelings of stress and anxiety constantly suppressed. It does this while at the same time enhancing your ability to mentally perform under acute stress.
When being used as a one-off stress-buster, a higher dose is often used. Typically, this will be in the range of 100-150mg.
So clearly, Brain bright provides us with more than we could possibly need. While we don’t usually like excessive doses of any substance, rhodiola rosea seems to be largely safe and very well-tolerated at doses as high as 500mg.
Since there are no useless ingredients in here and rhodiola rosea is perhaps the key ingredient, we can’t fault this dosage at all.
Finally, there’s theanine.
In our opinion, every serious, comprehensive nootropic should contain some theanine.
Theanine works in synergy with caffeine. It enhances the focus-lifting effects of caffeine, making it more potent, while at the same time attenuating some of the negative side effects of caffeine consumption (e.g anxiety, jitters, insomnia, irritability, etc).
Many people believe that theanine has its own knootropic effects independent of caffeine. However, we have only ever really noticed it working with caffeine.
So if you drink a lot of coffee and tea throughout the day, adding extra theanine into your diet could be a good idea.
Generally speaking, we recommend using as much if not more theanine as caffeine. So if you consume 3-4 large cups of coffee per day, you would need about 200mg of theanine to really derive any benefits. As such,m the 100mg in Brain Bright may not be sufficient for some of you. For others it will be just right. It remains a good inclusion regardless.

What We Don’t Like
The main thing we don’t like about Brain Bright is the fact that it is very limited in scope.
To put it simply, BioTrust Brain Bright is not a comprehensive nootropic stack.
It lacks many things that we expect to see in a modern, professional, premium-grade nootropic supplement.
It does not address several important aspects of cognitive performance which the more holistic, extensive stacks do deal with.
For example, it contains nothing to improve memory function in the long-term.
Here we look for substances like Bacopa monnieri which specifically enhance memory function. Bacopa monnieri is, in our opinion, the most effective substance at improving your memory.
It does not provide a short-term cognitive ‘kick’; it causes deep and lasting improvements in how your mmeory works. It takes a short while to kick in, but its effects become more pronounced the longer you use it for. Consistency and patience is key here, but the results are amazing.
BioTrust Brain Bright does not contain any specific memory-enhancers.
It also lacks anything to rapidly improve focus, learning capacity, or concentration beyond reducing the impact that stress has on focus.
Here we usually look for a top-quality cholinergic: Alpha-GPC, CDP-Choline (usually Cognizin), Choline Bitartrate, or something along those lines.
A cholinergic is a substance which confers extra choline to the brain. More choline in the brain means you can make more acetylcholine.
Acetylcholine is sometimes called the “learning neurotransmitter”. It is heavily involved in brain functions such as focus, learning, short-term memory formation, as well as muscle contraction and a string of other vital functions.
Greater acetylcholine availability means your brain has all of the communication materials it needs to function optimally. In practice this means better focus, longer concentration spans, better short-term memory formation, and even better physical performance.
We are really disappointed that BioTrust Brain Bright lacks any form of cholinergic.
This is a key constituent of a modern natural nootropic.
Without something to increase acetylcholine availability, we think a nootropic stack is essentially impotent in the area that really separates professional nootropics from cheap herbal extracts.
We cannot overstate this: without an acetylcholine booster, a nootropic stack is missing something very important. That Brain Bright lacks such an ingredient is a real let down.
Finally, the main absence we fell here is something to promote deep, lasting changes in the brain’s physical architecture.
The best nootropic supplements on the market today will sometimes provide this form of support in the form of substances which promote certain proteins or hormones that are known to cause brain cell proliferation.
A key example here is Lion’s Mane Mushroom, found in leading nootropic stacks such as Mind Lab Pro and Modafy.
Lion’s Mane Mushroom is known to promote the release of a protein called Nerve Growth Factor (NGF).
Nerve Growth Factor is in a class of peptides called “neurotrophic factors”. These are substances which cause “neurogenesis”; the growth, maintenance, and proliferation of neural cells.
Increasing the production and release of NGF would directly cause more nerve cell growth; namely, the growth and multiplication of neurons. It causes the dendrites crucial for brain cell communication to grow, and it encourages maintenance of existing dendrites.
This would in turn mean better inter-cellular communication, which means more brain power, better thought processing, and more mental clarity.
Consuming substances like LMM on a regular basis is known to effectively lead to a more efficient, effective brain.
BioTrust Brain Bright lacks any substance capable of delivering similar results. It is clearly not as long-term focused as other, professional-quality nootropic stacks.
Compared to our top rated products, it appears severely limited in what it can accomplish.

BioTrust Brain Bright Side Effects
The ingredients in BioTrust Brain Bright are all natural, widely-used, well-tolerated substances. They are very common supplement ingredients.
Regarding the vitamins, amino acids and so on, you already consume these things regularly. The specialist nootropic substances are also not usually associated with side effects. They will generally not cause any problems for the vast majority of users.
However, the serving sizes in Brain Bright are very unusual. They are much larger than what you will find in most natural nootropic stacks. They are even greater than you will find in most stand-alone extract pills you might find in your local health food store.
As such, there is a relatively higher risk of side effects from their use.
You need to approach unusual herbal extracts with caution. Just because they are natural does not mean that they are definitely safe at any dose. It is really important that you consider your own specific circumstances before diving in at the deep end; allergies, existing medical conditions, current health and fitness, and diet are all important things to consider before proceeding.
BioTrust Brain Bright Review Conclusion
There is a lot that we like about this supplement.
We were actually pleasantly surprised when we got to the formula part of this Brain bright review.
The formula contains some fantastic nootropics. The extracts used are of high quality, and the doses are more than you will find in the vast majority of nootropic stacks.
In some cases the doses are actually so high that they give us some slight concern regarding side effects. The doses do not need to be as high as they are in order for you to get long term benefits.
The rhodiola rosea dose, for example, only needs to be above 100mg when it is being used as a one-time acute treatment for stress. For everyday use, 50mg is the sweet-spot between potency and safety.
That said, all of the ingredients are widely-used, well-understood, and generally very safe. Side effects associated with their use is rare, and even at the doses used in Brain Bright the chances of you experiencing any serious side effects is small.
BioTrust Brain Bright has a lot going for it, but it has serious limitations.
Basically, the main issue with this supplement is that it has limited scope: there are no specific memory-enhancers in here.
There are no cholinergics to quickly supercharge mental clarity and focus.
There are no long term brain growth supporting substances.
Brain Bright will help increase focus as a function of reducing anxiety. It will support mental function during times of peak mental and physical stress. But it does not actively raise focus, concentration or memory function above baseline levels.
To achieve that, you need to utilize cholinergics, specific memory boosters, and substances that promote nerve growth factor.
This stack has many great things going for it. If you want natural stress reduction and improved cerebral blood flow, Brain Bright might be the perfect product for you. If you want to take your cognitive performance to the next level, then a more comprehensive and powerful nootropic might be a better option.
