Struggling With Stress?

Want A Natural Solution?

Natural Nootropic Supplements Might Be The Ideal Solution To Anxiety Problems

Anxiety, stress, being overwhelmed.

For many of us, these feelings are just part and parcel of modern working life.

Today the dividing line between our working life and our private life could not be more blurred. Many of us work longer hours than ever before, and we are almost never ‘off the clock’.

We are always on the other end of our phones, so we never have any actual down-time.

Our lives are dominated by work, and it seems to be getting harder and harder to properly de-stress.

To make things worse, our job security has never been more fragile. Gone are the days of the “company man”. Today, our performance is everything. More of us are working as freelancers than ever before, and we are always only as good as our last job.

In this climate, it is little wonder that a growing number of people are turning to things like prescription drugs and pharmaceutical-grade supplements to beat this anxiety.

Nootropics for anxiety and stress

Lots of people are using powerful mind altering substances to reduce stress levels and improve their cognitive performance in work, in school, or on the playing field.

However, we think this is a terrible solution.

The Problem With Synthetic Stress Drugs

Unfortunately today, the usage of so-called “smart drugs” is on the rise.

Executives and extremely high performing business people are obviously among the biggest users, but there is also a steadily growing number of students utilizing pharmaceutical-grade, synthetic drugs to help them get through exams.

People who have incredibly stressful jobs will face an enormous temptation to use synthetic anxiolytics (anxiety-reducing agents) to help take the edge off their anxiety.

The same is true of students studying at the top universities in the world; the pressure to perform can be enormous, and with that pressure comes great anxiety.

problems with synthetic anxiety drugs

In theory, using synthetic nootropics or pharmaceutical-grade anxiolytics to reduce their stress levels will allow them to perform much better when it comes to ‘crunch time’.

It doesn’t matter whether ‘crunch time’ to you means a client meeting, a project submission, a 3 hour exam, or a thesis justification. The idea is that these drugs can make you feel totally at ease, removing your feelings of stress and anxiety altogether, thereby allowing you to think clearly and be at your best.

The problem is that it doesn’t work out that way.

Some of the most popular synthetic anxiolytics include things like Noopept, Aniracetam and Phenibut.

Noopept synthetic anxiolytic

As you will see in the articles we have linked here, these substances come with a number of risks that any potential user needs to consider carefully before progressing.

They have major physical and mental side effect risks, and their long-term use can be extremely problematic.

Yet while we believe that use of Aniracetam and the link has dangers which far outweigh the benefits, many people swear that they experience no ill effects whatsoever.

But even if we believed that you could use these substances safely in both the short and long term, we would still opt not to use them.

That’s because they have a very practical problem: they are immensely unpredictable.

Dangers using synthetic anxiety drugs

For example, Phenibut works by wreaking havoc with your GABA receptors. These are the same receptors that alcohol acts on (you get where we’re going with this).

In fact, phenibut is a derivative of GABA itself; the major difference is that it can quickly and easily cross the blood-brain barrier.

Like alcohol, Phenibut reduces feelings of apprehension and anxiety. It attenuates stress, massively enhances social confidence, and helps with sleep.

However, like alcohol, it can be counter-productive.

When using Phenibut, you lose the self-restraint, self-regulation and the control you normally have.

You become more socially confident, but in the wrong circumstances, this can backfire and see you behaving a little too confidently.

A classic example of this is a client meeting; you wouldn’t want to be a little drunk in a client meeting because you lose your usual speech filter. You might end up saying something stupid. You might speak before you’ve really thought about what you’re going to say. You might come across as flippant.

Well, Phenibut works in the same way.

It drastically reduces your speech filter, your caution, and your reserve. It also removes the kind of urgency that might make you perform better when it counts.

It is also very difficult to get the doses right. Take too much, and you will find that you are essentially ‘drugged-up’ while trying to get through an important exam or when trying to close the deal of your life.

This is especially true of the performance-enhancing smart drugs like Modafinil, but it also applies to anxiolytics like Phenibut or Noopept.

We are not saying that we also believe these substances are fine to use and risk-free. We are of the firm belief that their side effect risks far outweigh the potential benefits. We are saying that even if they were safe, we still wouldn’t use them. We think everyone stands to benefit more from using a purely natural, professionally-formulated, legal nootropic supplement. Anyone considering using things like Piracetam or Modafinil should talk to their doctor first.

-Why Natural Nootropics?-

Clearly then, there are serious problems that come with using synthetic stress busters.

Anxiolytic compounds like Aniracetam come with a high side effect risk, they pose long-term health dangers, and they are incredibly unpredictable. Even if they were safe, we still think they would not be worth it for 99% of you.

So what’s the alternative?

Natural Alternatives

Thankfully, there are plenty of safe, reliable, predictable, 100% natural alternatives to these synthetic anxiolytics.

There are a wide range of natural herbal extracts, minerals and concentrates which can help reduce stress and anxiety.

Many of these substances work via different pathways; some address deficiencies linked to stress, others affect neurotransmitters known to help attenuate anxiety, while others still help regulate blood pressure and boost mental energy.

There are a number of substances which can help reduce stress, increase concentration, lower hypertension, and beat performance anxiety. These include:

  • Rhodiola rosea
  • Theanine
  • Tyrosine
  • CDP-Choline
  • Folic Acid

Substances like Rhodiola rosea and Tyrosine have been shown in numerous clinical trials to help improve cognitive performance when subjects are placed under acute stress. This makes them great options for anyone looking for a nootropic for anxiety caused by exams or project deadlines.

Substances like theanine and folic acid promote calmness. Theanine in particular is worth noting here; it helps take the edge off caffeine usage, meaning less anxiety and more focus.

Finally, a substance like CDP-Choline helps elevate focus, meaning that your feelings of anxiety and stress are less likely to distract you from the task at hand.

However, for most people, purchasing and consuming more than one of these substances on a regular basis is not realistic.

That is just too many pills to be taking each day.

Some of you will not really know where to get hold of these things either.

Luckily for you, there are several pre-made, comprehensive, professional-quality natural nootropic supplements which contain some combination of these substances.

Several supplements on the market today combine two or more of these key natural anxiolytics in ideal doses.

The result is an effective, economical, and reliable method for naturally reducing anxiety.

Here we have listed what we believe to be the best nootropics for anxiety on the market today. We have selected only those nootropics which seem to be specially suited to lowering stress and anxiety. We have looked for those which contain the above mentioned ingredients, no caffeine, and no synthetic depressants.

If you think you know the best nootropic for anxiety and we have not listed it here, please let us know in the comments section below.

The Best Nootropics For Anxiety

Here is our list of the best nooropics for anxiety.

The list contains comprehensive nootropics as well as those designed more specifically for anxiety reduction.

Just because a nootropic increases focus and memory function does not mean that it is not suitable for people looking to reduce anxiety.

In fact, enhancing your cognitive function while reducing stress and improving mood is probably what most of you are looking for.

We update our rankings after every single review; if we come across a supplement that deserves to be here, you will see it listed here.

If you think you are currently using the best nootropic supplement for anxiety and stress but it isn’t reviewed on our site, then let us know! We get recommendations from our readers all the time, and our site wouldn’t be what it is without you guys!

#1 – Mind Lab Pro

Top Rated Gaming Supplements 1 Mind Lab ProWe are huge fans of MLP on this site. Our entire review team took this stuff for months and experienced:

  • Reduced fatigue and anxiety
  • Enhanced focus
  • Better mental performance under stress

This is currently the nootropic of choice for our editor, as well as for several members of our review team.

It is a truly comprehensive nootropic stack, meaning that it addresses every aspect of cognitive function. Long-term users can expect reduced anxiety, better sleep, enhanced focus, and better memory function. You can’t ask for much more than that in our opinion.

Mind Lab Pro is stimulant free and contains almost all of the ingredients listed above (except for folic acid). It is a comprehensive stack, but it is as potent as it is wide-ranging.

Main Benefit: Good servings of rhodiola rosea and theanine

Main Drawback: Tyrosine dose could be higher

#2 – Free Mind INSIGHT

Best vegan nootropics INSIGHT FreemindINSIGHT is composed of high quality ingredients which can significantly reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. Users can expect:

  • Better focus & less distractibility
  • Decreased anxiety
  • Improved mental performance under stress

INSIGHT is marketed specifically as a vegan nootropic, but it is far more than a vegan alternative. It is a powerful nootropic in its own right, and it is a superb nootropic for anxiety.

It is (almost) entirely composed of scientifically-proven, effective nootropics. The combination of rhodiola rosea, theanine, ashwagandha (although we have our reservations) and the Tyrosine top-up should produce a very nice reduction in anxiety, insomnia, and stress-induced cognitive impairment.

Most importantly, the dosages used here are very good, and the potency of the extracts used in this nootropic supplement are superb.

Main Benefit: Simple, clean formula with good doses

Main Drawback: Contains some ingredients that offer little value (but not many)
