Brain Fuel Review Summary
Don’t be fooled by the liquid delivery method – there’s nothing groundbreaking or special about Brain Fuel. If you read our entire Brain Fuel review, you’ll learn why we aren’t too impressed with this new supplement currently being heavily plugged on Amazon.
Tropical Oasis Premium Brain Fuel contains some interesting ingredients, but they are all lumped together in a big proprietary blend. There are major concerns about some of the ingredients potential serving sizes. Too much Huperzine A or Alpha-GPC will cause serious side effects. Not enough and we wont get any benefits.
We believe that proprietary blends are always a worse choice than supplements that reveal their formula in full. If your formula is really as good as you say it is, why hide? Other manufacturers can reveal their serving sizes without going out of business; if you can’t, that’s your problem, not the customers, and not ours.
Where To Buy Brain Fuel
Brain Fuel “liquid brain nootropic” is currently being pushed hard by Amazon. It appears on the top of the page when you search for “nootropic”. It is not featured on the official website right now. It seems to only be sold through Amazon and eBay.
Full Brain Fuel Review
Brain Fuel is a “liquid brain nootropic” currently being pushed hard by Amazon (at the time of writing obviously – these things are temporary).
The “liquid supplement” niche is a relatively new phenomenon, although it already seems to be well established in certain sectors such as fat loss aids and high-potency multivitamins.
In most cases, there’s no benefit to liquid delivery over capsules; manufacturers are just capitalizing on the novelty factor. There’s also the added feeling of a supplement being ‘pharmaceutical grade’ when it is administered as droplets under the tongue that helps sales nicely.
In fact, there are a few disadvantages to liquid delivery, which we’ll come to later.
For now, what is Brain Fuel all about?
Tropical Oasis do not list Premium Brain Fuel on their website, so all of this information is taken from the Amazon merchant page.
According to the product bottle, Brain Fuel does the following:
- Promotes mental clarity
- Increases focus
- Enhances memory retention
The bottle states quite emphatically that Brain Fuel supports cognitive function, so we expect to see multiple aspects of mental performance addressed, from mood and focus to memory and relaxation.
So, does Brain Fuel deliver?
Can it promote mental calrity?
Will it really enhance memory retention?
What about the side effects of using Brain Fuel? Is it safe?
Is it the best supplement for you right now?
Let’s find out. Below you will find our full Brain Fuel review, starting with a closer look at the Brain Fuel formula, before going on to look at the delivery method, the side effects, and what other people are saying about this new nootropic supplement.
Brain Fuel Formula
Here is the Tropical Oasis Premium Brain Fuel formula as it appears on the bottle:
Right off the bat a number of big problems jump out at us.
This formula can really be split into two parts: a vitamin stack and a proprietary blend which contains all of the interesting nootropics.
We wont spend much time on the vitamin stack, but we will say this.
There is nothing impressive about the B3 and B5 doses here. Very cheap, generic, own-brand B vitamin complexes (the sort you might see in supermarkets) will typically provide as much as Brian Fuel, if not a great deal more.
You will also notice that B12 is listed as an ingredient, but no serving size is given.
While there is no established upper limit of B12 consumption (as far as we’re aware), we would still like to know how much B12 we’re paying for.
In any case, judging by the other doses, we doubt there’s anything to get worked up about.
Then we have the incredibly disappointing proprietary blend.
Brain Fuel Proprietary Blend – Not Good!
The Brain Fuel proprietary blend is 2416mg in total, and contains 7 ingredients.
Usually, the main issue with proprietary blends (aside form the obvious scammy feel to them) is the fact that there’s no way for the best ingredients to be dosed properly.
As the effectiveness (and safety) of nootropic substances is closely related to serving size, this poses a big problem. In such cases, users stand no chance of feeling anything of significance from a nooropic.
Brain Fuel has a different problem.
It’s totally feasible for some ingredients in this blend to be dosed so high as to pose a real and serous side effect risk.
If the Huperzine A content of Brain Fuel is above about 200mcg, then you have a very high chance of experiencing side effects.
Huperzine A is a very potent nootropic. It needs to be cycled regularly to avoid a build-up of acetylcholine in the brain (as Huperzine A shuts off the acetylcholine regulation system).
Consuming too much will produce side effects in a very short amount of time.
We discuss these side effects at length in this article.
We have no idea how much Huperzine A is in each serving of Brain Fuel. That is a major, perhaps insoluble issue with this product.
If you are uncertain as to whether a supplement is safe, then you have the answer to whether or not you should use it.
Similarly, Alpha-GPC is known to cause side effects when taken in doses that are too large. Alpha-GPC is one of the best natural nootropics there is, but its power comes with a price, and that price is an upper safe limit on usage.
Again, we have discussed the potential dangers associated with this powerful cholinergic in this article.
Of course, there is also still a reasonable chance that all of the best ingredients are drastically under-dosed. The Brain Fuel formula could easily be bulked out by L-Tyrosine.
L-Tyrosine makes a very good filler ingredient. It could easily be used to fill up 99% of the Brain Fuel formula.
Tyrosine is cheap to buy in large amounts, and it is safe to take in doses of around 2g per day. It has a very good tolerance (being a common amino acid) and a low risk of producing side effects. Since it is so common, manufacturers can get hold of large amounts for very little money.
This makes it an ideal ‘filler’ ingredient: a substance which allows manufacturers to cut back on production costs while still listing great ingredients on the label.
All they need to do is throw in some trace amounts of the good stuff, and fill the rest of the bottle up with Tyrosine!
Of course, we don’t know for certain that’s what’s going on here, and that’s the point!
WE DON’T KNOW ANYTHING FOR CERTAIN ABOUT THE BRAIN FUEL FORMULA.
The manufacturer has chosen to hide it from us, and force us to speculate as a result.
If they don’t want us speculating like this, they can stop it immediately by releasing the formula. Other manufacturers manage to do so, so they have no excuse.

Liquid Delivery – What’s That All About?
Many of you will have found your way onto this review while looking for some information on how you are actually supposed to take Brain Fuel.
Brain Fuel is one of the only nootropics we have ever seen for which the method of delivery is liquid droplets.
This is a popular gimmick used by powerful vitamin supplements, fat burners, and a range of other supplements sold online today.
However, a gimmick it most certainly is.
The Brain Fuel bottle displays a graph supposedly showing the difference in effectiveness between liquid and capsule delivery:
We can’t find a shred of evidence to support this claim.
If anything, capsule delivery has some clear advantages over liquid droplet delivery.
The main advantage is how easy it is to control portion size.
Try squeezing tiny drops out of a pipette; it’s so easy to squeeze just a little too hard and then all of a sudden you’ve tripled your dose. It happens too fast to stop it. With the substances in Brain Fuel, that’s no joke.
Then there’s the fact that capsules allow for a much more convenient dosing schedule.
Who do you want to be: the guy who discreetly takes a pill in a meeting, or the guy who leaves the room to put droplets under his tongue? Which do you think creates the better impression with clients (around whom many people use natural nootropics)?
Generally speaking, we’re always going to assume that liquid delivery is a gimmick to make customers feel a bit more “science-y” when using the product. It creates the impression that the product is a lot more serious than it is.
It’s good marketing, but we see right through it.
What Are Others Saying About Brain Fuel?
Here is a selection of customer reviews taken from Amazon. As always, we need to tell you that we aren’t endorsing any of these reviews in particular. We don’t think that the ones we’ve posted here are more or less accurate than any you might see for yourself on Amazon.
We merely think it’s a good idea to look at a broad selection of user reviews before buying. This allows you to get a flavor for the product.

Brain Fuel Review Conclusion
For those of you who have read our entire Brain Fuel review, you’ll know what a disappointment this supplement has been for us.
The interesting ingredients are packing into a proprietary blend which causes us numerous problems.
There are at least two ingredients which could feasibly be dosed so high as to make serious side effects inevitable.
There is also a potential ‘filler’ ingredient in Tyrosine.
The manufacturer forces us to consider these as realistic possibilities because they have refused to tell us the formula specs in full.
They might think they have good reasons for doing this, but that isn’t our problem, and it is not your problem either. We judge everyone by the same standard, and plenty of manufacturers do tell us their formula specs in full.
If you’re serious about enhancing cognitive function through the use of nootropics, then you will be better served by any of our top rated natural nootropics. Brain Fuel is a sub-standard supplement with more weaknesses than strengths.
