Nano Smart Brain Review Summary

It is clear why the Smart Brain formula has been split into two here. The main reason is actually that the formula is so busy. The entire stack contains 16 ingredients, which is a lot. Some of the ingredients in the ‘Dusk’ portion are indeed more suited to helping you sleep better, and some ingredients in the ‘Dawn’ portion are bound to help your cognitive function throughout the day. But the main reason behind the split seems to be the sheer size of Nano Smart Brain.

There’s a lot in Smart Brain that we like, but there’s also a lot that we don’t. Overall, we think it could be a lot more focused, streamlined, and ultimately more potent. We also don’t think Noopept is really necessary for the vast majority of people who use nootropics. Noopept can backfire for many users.

All things considered, we think there are better supplements out there for enhancing focus, memory, and learning capacity in the long-run.

Where To Buy Nano Smart Brain

You will always have an added degree of protection when buying directly from the manufacturer. EatNano seems to be a relatively reputable site, so we don’t think there’s a lot to fear form buying directly. If you experience any problems, let us know in the comments section below!

At the time of writing, EatNano is a website you will no doubt be seeing a lot of if you search for nootropics online or follow any nootropics websites on social media. Nano are currently conducting a pretty heavy social media and online advertising campaign revolving around their two main products: Smart Brain, and EatNano Meal Replacement.

There have been several reviews for both products popping up recently, no doubt because of the aggressive marketing campaign.

Nano Smart Brain Review

Obviously, this review focuses on Smart Brain; their two-part, comprehensive nootropic stack.

So what is Nano Smart Brain, and what does it claim to do?

According to the official product website, Nano Smart Brain delivers a number of very impressive benefits:

Of course, most of you know by now that we should never take manufacturers on their word. Practically every nootropic supplement on this site claims to be able to do these things, but very few of them actually deliver. And even those that do will often do so in a much less significant way than advertised.

A very small number of nootropics actually enhance brain function in the long-term.

We also know to be incredibly skeptical when we see charts that have been made to appear scientific, but which actually lack any validity or meaning whatsoever. Like these ones found on the Nano Smart Brain website:

what does nano smart brain do

We think visuals like these are inherently cynical and deceptive. There’s no scale on these charts. No links to the studies in question. Nothing. We always just assume that these graphs were drawn up by the web designers.

But that doesn’t mean that Nano Smart Brain review is going to go the way of other supplements that use such tactics. While these things are often a sign of a bad supplement, they aren’t necessarily so; they can just as easily betray a low marketing budget or an ill-informed designer.

So where does Nano Smart Brain stand?

Does this two-part nootropic stack really help you in the ways it claims?

Is it safe?

Is it worth the price tag?

Is there anything better out there than Nano Smart Brain?

Read our full Nano Smart Brain review below to find out. If you have any questions remaining at the end of the review, please tell us in the comments section below.

Nano Smart Brain Formula Review

By far the biggest section in this Nano Smart Brain review is going to be the ingredients review. That’s because Smart Brain is a huge formula, containing 16 ingredients, some of which require some explanation.

To get started, here’s the Smart Brain formula. As you can see, it’s split into ‘Dawn’ and ‘Dusk’:

Nano Smart Brain Dawn Dusk Ingredients

As you can see, we have the entire Smart Brain formula shown here. Of course, you will have probably found out that the formula details are not listed on the EatNano website.

Thankfully, we have some very helpful, engaged readers, one of whom kindly provided us with this shot.

Thanks Tobias!

Before we move on, we need to note that we’re glad Nano list their full formula on the label, including individual ingredient serving sizes. Usually, when a supplement formula is so crowded, everything gets lumped together in a proprietary blend. That Nano Smart Brain avoids this pitfall is definitely a good thing (even though using a prop blend should be unthinkable).

As this formula is so big, we’re going to make discussing it easy on ourselves. We’re going to split the Smart Brain formula into ‘Dawn’ and ‘Dusk’ segments.

-Does The Type Of Coffee You Drink Matter?-

‘Dawn’ Formula Review

Although there are 10 ingredients in ‘Dawn’, there are only about 5 main ingredients, the rest being fancy names for vitamins.

So, we’ll start with those 5 main ingredients.

By L-Theanin, we assume that Nano mean L-Theanine. Theanine is a good addition to a comprehensive nootropic stack.

It works with caffeine to heighten and lengthen its benefits while at the same time reducing the severity of the unwanted side effects. Consuming theanine alongside caffeine will allow you to get more out of your caffeine consumption while also preventing things like jitters, anxiety, or insomnia.

That’s where Guarana comes in.

Smart Brain Dawn Formula Review

Despite what supplement manufacturers want you to believe, the caffeine you get from guarana is no different from the caffeine you get from coffee, or tea, or anything else.

The only reason why you might choose to consume gaurana over coffee (or straight synthesized caffeine) is because guarana contains more caffeine than coffee on a pound for pound basis.

But in a supplement, we don’t care about the source; we just want the substance that will give us more mental energy and focus.

We just want the caffeine.

We don’t know how potent this guarana extract is, but we can assume that a lot of it is caffeine. So we’ll assume that there’s roughly 80mg of caffeine in Smart Brain ‘Dawn’.

In conjunction with 150mg theanine, 80mg of caffeine should give you a nice, gentle energy boost in the morning without causing side effects.

Alpha-GPC is an immensely powerful cholinergic.

It confers choline to the brain, which in turn raises acetylcholine availability, Acetylcholine is often referred to as the ‘earning neurotransmitter’; it is involved in memory formation, focus, attention, among other things. Increasing acetylcholine availability can significantly improve learning, memory, and several other aspects of cognitive function.

However, we think 100mg of Alpha-GPC is a little low for a nootropic stack that wants to be taken seriously. We would like to see 150mg of Alpha-GPC at least. An extra 50mg would make the world of difference.

Nano Smart Brain Alpha GPC

DMAE is another cholinergic. The fact that ‘Dawn’ contains two cholinergics would explain why the Alpha-GPC dosage is too low.

However, we don’t see why you would sacrifice one of the best cholinergics there is in order to make room for a lesser cholinergic like DMAE.

Both Alpha-GPC and DMAE ostensibly do the same thing; the only difference between them is that Alpha-GPC is significantly more effective.

Finally, we come to Noopept.

If you’ve been reading our site for a while, then you’ll know that we aren’t big fans of Noopept. If you’re a new visitor though, you’d be forgiven for wondering what this stuff is.

Noopept is essentially a kind of refined, hyper-potent form of piracetam. Piracetam is an extremely strong cognitive enhancer, known for its rather overwhelming properties.

Noopept is therefore a known, well-established nootropic. It is incredibly potent, and it does provide a significant increase in cognitive capacity int he short term. Noopept is thought to have a psycho-stimulatory effect; that is, it acts a little more like a narcotic drug than most natural nootropics.

It is synthetic, not naturally occurring. It is thought to have a wide range of effects, from promoting NGF synthesis to helping with recovery after neural trauma.

The reason we don’t like Noopept is because it is incredibly unpredictable. Many users claim that it helps them with every aspect of cognition, while others say that they have never experienced any benefit from it whatsoever. Others still claim that it hinders their thinking, making them unable to take in information, and preventing them from speaking properly (check out this forum thread for example).

It has a high propensity for causing side effects. These side effects range in severity from mild headaches to depression and constant irritability.

We have written about Noopept and what it does extensively in this article if you are interested in learning more.

The rest of the ingredients in ‘Dawn’ are simply vitamins and common amino acids. As is common practice these days, the manufacturer has simply given them more mysterious, scientific names. Do a quick bit of research for yourself and you’ll see what we mean.

‘Dusk’ Formula Review

Much of the Smart Brain ‘Dusk’ formula seems to be dedicated towards promoting restful sleep and a positive, calm mood.

Many people use nootropics to enhance their mental performance during the day, and they probably give little thought to the evening. But ensuring you get a deep, sound night’s sleep is just as important for maximizing cognitive performance as filling yourself with cholinergics and amino acids.

For starters, Lithium has been used as an effective treatment for mood disorders for a long time now. While some think it can treat bi-polar disorder, we think it’s fairer to say that it can help attenuate some symptoms.

In any case, it clearly does help regulate mood. This is crucial if you have a stressful job liable to keep you awake at night.

Smart Brain Dusk Formula Review

However, lithium supplementation comes with the risk of side effects, which include dizziness, muscle fatigue, and a dazed feeling.

5-HTP is also widely used to help regulate mood and sleep quality. This stuff is a precursor to serotonin, the neurotransmitter responsible for feelings of contentment, empathy, satisfaction, and joy. Supplementing with 5-HTP is thought to be an effective way of ensuring your serotonin levels are healthy.

However, we always question the logic of putting this in a nootropic.

Users of nootropics don’t necessarily have low serotonin levels. Taking 5-HTP doesn’t force serotonin up; it just makes sure your brain can synthesize all it needs.

If you think you have low serotonin levels, you should really speak with a doctor. When it comes to things like this, self-diagnosis isn’t a good option.

Ashwaganda Nano Smart Brain Ingredients

Ashwaganda Extract is also thought to contribute to reduced stress and anxiety.

However, the dose found in Smart Brain may be a little low. Most studies looking at AE have used much more than 50mg. This study noted significant effects, but here 250mg was administered daily. We don’t think 50mg will prove quite as effective.

The only ingredient in the ‘Dusk’ Nano Smart Brain stack not dedicated to aiding in restful sleep and reduced anxiety is choline bitartrate

Like DMAE and Alpha-GPC, this confers choline to the brain.

The reason we don’t supplement with straight choline is that the uptake is actually quite low. Not a great deal of it makes it to the brain. Supplementing with analogues such as choline bitartrate or CDP-Choline is much more efficient.

But once again, we don’t know why you would want to split the cholinergic into three different forms, and then to also split the time of ingestion. To our knowledge, this would have no impact on acetylcholine levels, focus, memory or mental energy.

It is always preferable to simply pick the most effective cholinergic and to dose it properly.

This is a classic example of over-thinking leading to worse results!

Our Thoughts On The Whole Nano Smart Brain Formula

This is one of the most comprehensive and, for want of a better word, serious stack sot have come out in recent years. It clearly tries to address both mental performance during the day and restful sleep at night. It obviously aims to address these two things in a big way.

At the base of it, it is a solid nootropic supplement, with ingredients that actually do something, and all of the ingredients are listed with their individual serving sizes.

Nano Smart Brain is not a scam; it is a stand-up supplement.

But unfortunately, we think it could be a lot better in many ways.

The main two drawbacks for us are the separation of the cholinergics for seemingly no reason, and the addition of Noopept.

Both of these issues are explained in detail above.

On the cholinergic front, manufacturers should really stop over-thinking things and go with the most effective substance to get the job done. Instead of trying to cover different angles, they should realize that all cholinergics essentially do the same work; they should find the one that does its job the best and dose it generously.

On the Noopept front, we simply don’t think it’s worth the risk of it backfiring on you when you need it to deliver most; be it in an important meeting, as a critical deadline looms, or as you enter your final exams. These aren’t times to take gambles!

Another problem we have with Nano Smart Brain is the very nature of a two-part stack.

Most natural nootropic substances aren’t so short-lived that they need to be taken at a specific time of day. The best, most comprehensive stacks on the market today deliver ingredients which gradually build up in your system, meaning that you feel the benefits 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

There isn’t much benefit to taking anxiolytics specifically at night, as taking them in the day should mean that they also have an effect at night. That is assuming that ingredient selection, dosage and extract quality are all on-point.

Nano Smart Brain hasn’t got ingredient selection down, and the doses are lower than we’d like for some of the key ingredients.

There are some ingredients with limited effectiveness in a nootropic stack (5-HTP and Ashwaganda Extract), and other ingredients that do have a place but which shouldn’t take up valuable space in an otherwise under-powered supplement (vitamins and weak aminos).

To put it simply, not bad but it could be so much better.

Of course, that is from our perspective. There are plenty of people who get a lot out of Noopept use, and some people may feel that they can benefit a great deal from lithium and 5-HTP supplementation.

In which case, this may seem like an ideal choice.

All we would say is, if you do think you need to be supplementing with lithium or 5-HTP, you should really talk to a qualified doctor about this. Mental health issues are not something that you should self-diagnose, and they are not something that you should attempt to self-medicate for.

If you’re feeling depressed, anxious, or anything of that nature, please talk to someone about it. Do not suffer in silence and do not turn to OTC supplements to try to fix your problems.

-What Is Huperzine A & Should You Use It?-

Nano Smart Brain Side Effects

One of the issues with this stack is that it is so under-powered. As such, it’s unlikely that you will experience any side effects from the vast majority of the ingredients.

For example, the maximum amount of caffeine that can be in a single serving of ‘Dawn’ is 80mg, and that is assuming that the guarana extract is 100% potent (which it wont be).

Add the side effect reducing effects of theanine into the mix, and you should have nothing to worry about (unless you have a serious caffeine sensitivity).

However, Noopept is a different story.

Noopept is incredibly unpredictable, delivering good results for some people, doing nothing for others, and hindering the cognitive performance of many more.

It is also associated with serious side effects, including dizziness, depression, irritability, nausea, and headaches.

There’s also no reason why anyone would need to take that much B12 each day. While there is no safe upper limit established for B12, you can still take things too far.

Always talk to your regular doctor before starting a new supplement regimen. This is even more important when the supplement you wish to take contains exotic ingredients and synthetic brain boosters, such as Noopept.

Nano Smart Brain Review Conclusion

We had high hopes when we started this Nano Smart Brain review, but the product didn’t live up to them in the end.

We do need to say that this isn’t a bad supplement. It isn’t a scam; it is clearly a solid attempt at making a comprehensive, effective, unique nootropic stack to help improve people’s sleep quality, mood, focus, memory, and overall cognitive function.

There are plenty of people who would no doubt love this supplement.

We just think several issues make it unsuitable for most of our readers.

There are less complicated, cheaper stacks which are no doubt capable of delivering many of the benefits claimed by Nano Smart Brain. They do not rely on substances like Noopept, which can cause side effects and which can actually inhibit brain function in certain respects.

If you’ve tried Noopept before and it worked well for you, then it’s a different story.

If you think you could benefit from taking lithium then 5-HTP, then Nano Smart Brain might be the ideal supplement for you.

NOTE: We strongly advise you to talk to a qualified health professional if you think you need anti-depressants – never self-medicate when it comes to mental health!

If you need a supplement to help you stay on top of your game, which will work reliably, and predictably, then we don’t think Nano Smart Brain is for you.
