Mind HD Review Summary

Mind HD is a feeble natural nootropic supplement. We have here a weak, thin, low quality proprietary blend.

Mind HD doesn’t have anywhere near the strength of modern, professional nootropic stacks like INSIGHT or Mind Lab Pro.

The formula is far too small for any of the ingredients to be dosed properly. As if that wasn’t bad enough, most of the ingredients are weak, unproven, largely ineffective substances. They lack even thin scientific support. If you’re serious about enhancing your cognitive function, look elsewhere.

Where To Buy Mind HD

Green Guru Nutrition has its own official website. However, the only option for buying their supplements is through Amazon. Clearly, they don’t want to invest in order fulfillment and storage. Little wonder.

Full Mind HD Review

Green Guru Nutrition have stayed under our radar for quite a long time. But it seems that their leading nootropic, Mind HD, is currently gaining a little popularity. As such, it seems only right that we give Mind HD a full and frank review.

Green Guru Nutrition produce a wide range of supplements. They make several products which could loosely be called nootropics, of which Mind HD is the only true, supposedly comprehensive, nootropic.

What does Mind HD do?

Mind HD Review

According to Green Guru Nutrition, Mind HD does the following:

  • Clears brain fog
  • Helps with waking up
  • Boosts alertness
  • Boosts concentration and mental endurance
  • Provides clean, sustained energy without a crash

That’s quite an extensive list of benefits.

We see manufacturers promise these things all the time, but so few deliver that we can’t help but be skeptical.

We come across supplements promising clean energy” more and more. However, only a handful of natural nootropics can genuinely claim to give you this. The rest either do nothing or resort to caffeine.

So where does Mind HD stand?

Is this really a comprehensive nootropic?

Can it deliver on all of these promises?

Is Mind HD safe?

Most importantly of all, is it the right supplement for you?

The only way to really find out if it is what you’re truly looking for is to look at the formula, the likely side effects, and what others have been saying about the product. Then we’ll tell you if we think this nootropic is likely to give you what you’re looking for.

If you have any questions, please post them in the comments section at the end of this full Mind HD review.

Green Guru Mind HD Formula

Let’s take a closer look at the Mind HD formula. Here is a shot of the label as it appears on the bottle:

Green Guru Nutrition Mind HD Formula

It is important to note that Green Guru Nutrition have made Mind HD vegan friendly. They have also made it Paleo-friendly, for those of you that like to kid yourselves that your diet resembles a cave-mans because you eat steak 7 times a week. It’s always good to see a manufacturer going the extra mile to include all potential customers.

As you can see, we’re dealing with a proprietary blend here.

The B vitamins are listed separately, but the main nootropic ingredients, those that are supposed to actually provide some “punch”, are all lumped together in a single, homogeneous proprietary blend.

We really don’t like proprietary blends, and neither should you.

They will claim that it is to protect their intellectual property, but manufacturers usually employ them to hide just how poor their formula really is.

When you are aggressively under-dosing the key ingredients and packing your formula out with cheap fillers, you wouldn’t want customers to know about it.

Proprietary blends offer the perfect solution to this: you get to cut right down on production costs while still telling customers they’re getting lots of fantastic ingredients for their money.

Many, many supplement manufacturers list their formulas in full, with every ingredient shown alongside its serving size. These manufacturers make lots of money, and nobody “steals” their formula.

If they can do it, then that’s the standard we are to judge people by.

If a manufacturer is too scared, or if they can’t take it, that’s not our problem as consumers.

-Should You Be Using Krill Oil?-

Mind HD Proprietary Blend – Can It Deliver?

The short answer to this question is: absolutely not!

In Mind HD, we have an incredibly thin, weak, over-stretched proprietary blend.

At 380mg and 5 ingredients, there’s too many ingredients and too little blend to go around.

Each ingredient has an average serving size of just 76mg.

For any ingredient to have a larger serving size than this, another ingredient needs to have a smaller serving size than this.

Clearly, we have a problem here.

But that’s not all.

The best ingredients need to be dosed in amounts that make it impossible for the 380mg to deliver on its promises.

To make matters even worse, the majority of the ingredients do nothing at all!

We’ll explain what we mean in a little more detail.

To begin with, there’s the problem of useless, totally bogus ingredients.

Panax Ginseng, and most forms of ginseng for that matter, seem pretty impotent when it comes to enhancing cognition.

This study found that 200mg of panax ginseng per day for 2 weeks actually resulted in a slowing of mental arithmetic. The researchers ultimately concluded: “We found no evidence of additional benefits, nor attenuation of acute effects following repeated ingestion of Panax ginseng (G115).”

The 400mg group showed some minor improvements, but of course this dose is more than the entire Mind HD blend, so we know we aren’t getting that much here!

Similarly, this study found that the effects of ginseng do not differ from placebo after 4 weeks of supplementation.

Clearly, ginseng is not the potent cognitive booster that supplement manufacturers like to claim that it is.

Mind HD ingredients panax ginseng

Even where we have good ingredients, they can’t possibly be dosed how they need to be to give you results.

For example, Mind HD contains theanine, which is a very good addition to a natural nootropic stack.

Theanine works in synergy with caffeine, amplifying its focus-boosting effects while attenuating its side effects. If you consume lots of caffeine on a daily basis, then theanine can help you get more out of it while also taking the edge off the side effects.

However, assuming you consume about 150mg of caffeine daily (2-3 large cups of coffee), then we need to use about 200mg of theanine to get a noticeable benefit.

But Mind HD has a total serving size of just 380mg (not including the vitamins of course).

Clearly, there’s just not enough blend to go around, and it is highly unlikely that theanine is dosed properly here.

If it is, then the other ingredients are dosed so low as to make their inclusion totally pointless.

rhodiola rosea Mind HD ingredients

Mind HD also contains Rhodiola Rosea.

Rhodiola rosea is a very effective natural nootropic substance. It is able to significantly reduce fatigue, as well as enhancing mental performance during times of acute stress.

However, in order for us to really get any meaningful benefits from rhodiola rosea, we need to use between 40mg and 50mg of rhodiola rosea on a daily basis.

In an ideal world, we would use about 50mg of high quality, potent rhodiola rosea as part of a comprehensive, holistic nootropic supplement. For single, infrequent, acute usage of rhodiola rosea, about 200mg is often used.

If rhodiola rosea is dosed at 50mg as it needs to be, and the theanine is dosed at 200mg as it really should be, then Mind HD only has 130mg left over for the remaining 3 ingredients.

-Learn More From Our Ingredient Guide-

By not telling us how much of each ingredient we’re getting, Green Guru Nutrition have forced us to speculate.

We don’t speculate about the likes of Mind Lab Pro, NooCube, or MOD Gaming Supplement, because they are totally transparent about their formulas.

But one thing is not mere speculation: the Mind HD formula is far too small and over-stretched to really deliver the results promised by the manufacturer.

Most of the ingredients are ineffective cognitive enhancers if you actually look at the evidence.

The good ingredients can’t be dosed properly. if they are, then the other ingredients must be dosed so low that we wonder why they’re in there at all.

After reviewing the formula, it’s safe to say that Mind HD is not a premium product.

Mind HD Side Effects

There is a very slim chance that Mind HD will cause unwanted side effects.

That’s because it is unlikely to do anything at all!

It is unlikely that any ingredient here can be dosed high enough to really give you any trouble.

Ginseng supplementation is sometimes associated with side effects. In fact, long-term ginseng use (longer than 6 months) is thought to significantly raise the risk of side effects. These side effects can be quite serious.

But as we said, the real issue here is the small size of the blend.

With proprietary blends, there is always a degree of uncertainty.

When there’s uncertainty with regards to your health and safety, we think it’s always best to pass. This is especially true when there are so many supplements out there that are definitely safe and side effect free for 99.99% of users.

Always consult with your regular doctor before you start using a product like Mind HD. If you are having problems with memory loss or genuine cognitive impairment, it is a qualified, certified health professional you need, not a nootropic supplement.

Mind HD Review Conclusion

If you have read our entire Mind HD review, then you’ll know that we are not about to recommend this natural nootropic stack to anybody.

Mind HD only provides us with the ingredients used in each serving and a total serving size; we have no idea how much of each ingredient is in each serving.

We believe that the blend size is simply too small or the ingredient list is too long (depending on what way you look at it) for the best ingredients to realistically be dosed how they need to be.

To make things even more problematic, the blend contains 3 ingredients which we believe to be of no use when it comes to cognitive enhancement.

Proprietary blends always offer low value for money, and they almost always means poor quality, but some are worse than others.

The Mind HD proprietary blend is less than mediocre in our opinion.

If you are determined to optimize your cognitive function int he long-run, and you want the best results possible, check out some of our articles for advice, and take a look at some of our top rated nootropic stacks.

A comprehensive, professional-quality nootropic can work wonders for memory, focus, and clarity. Mind HD, unfortunately, cannot.
