Neuro Boost Review Summary
Active Laboratories Neuro Boost is a fairly average nootropic supplement. It contains some really good natural brain boosters, all of which are listed alongside their individual serving sizes. There is very little in the way of useless or ‘filler’ ingredients, and in many cases the ingredient selection could not be better.
But the key ingredients are almost all seriously under-dosed. We aren’t splitting hairs here either; there is just 50mg of cholinergic in the whole stack, and that is DMAE. DMAE is far from the most effective cholinergic available, and it is relatively side effect prone.
To put it simply, this is far from the worst nootropic stack we’ve ever reviewed, but it is far from the best. Even bacopa monnieri isn’t doing anything spectacular here. Better stacks are available.
Where To Buy Neuro Boost
Neuro Boost is currently being promoted heavily on Amazon. However, you should always check whether you can buy directly from the manufacturer first. This gives you added protection and can often save you money through multi-buy deals.
Full Neuro Boost Review
Neuro Boost is an all-purpose nootropic supplement made by Active Laboratories. We’ve never heard of these guys before, and we can’t find a great deal of information about them now. They don’t seem to have an official website. If they do, it’s not easy to find.
So what about Neuro Boost itself? What is it supposed to do?
According to Active Laboratories, Neuro Boost delivers the same benefits we have come to expect from all natural nootropic supplements:
- Mental focus
- “Clean energy” without crashes
- Stress and anxiety relief
We think the “clean energy” stuff is a bit misleading, but we can forgive a little marketing speak now and again.
Neuro Boost claims to deliver all of these benefits using only safe, natural ingredients. We are told that the energy boost lasts all-day-long, and that the focus and concentration levels you can achieve with Neuro Boost are unlike nothing you’ve ever experienced before!
Well, this sounds great. But is any of it actually true?
We’ve heard this a hundred times before from lots of manufacturers, and the supplements very rarely turn out to be legit. More often than not, they’re just cheap amino acid pills.
So what about Neuro Boost? Can it deliver these benefits? Does it deliver an energy boost that lasts all day long? Is it safe?
Read our full Neuro Boost review below to find out the answer to these questions. If you still have any questions at the end, just post them in the comments section and a member of our review team will get back to you immediately.
Neuro Boost Formula
Here is the Neuro Boost formula, as displayed on the product’s bottle:
The Neuro Boost formula is relatively straightforward. We are given all of the individual ingredient serving sizes, and there aren’t too many ingredients.
So what about the ingredients themselves?
Let’s take a closer look at this formula and how it works together.
We will obviously give most of our attention to the important ingredients. While the B vitamins are a good addition to a fat burner (being involved in metabolism and energy synthesis), they are not particularly noteworthy. They are in most modern stacks, and they offer little in the way of noticeable benefits.

Neuro Boost Ingredients – Does It Deliver?
All things considered, we don’t think this stack can claim to be anything special. While it contains some good ingredients at proper doses, it is still weak compared to other nootropics on the market right now. A better cholinergic, at a higher dose, and some other ‘big hitter’ ingredients would have made all the difference here.
Bacopa monnieri is probably our favorite natural nootropic supplement.
We have written at volume about Bacopa monnieri’s ability to improve memory function in the long-term.
Bacopa’s credentials are rock-solid. There are multiple robust, independent clinical trials showing that bacopa monnieri can enhance memory and recall speed if taken consistently for just 12 weeks or more.
The ideal serving size depends on the concentration of bacosides in the extract. Bacosides are the compounds in bacopa monnieri which we believe to be responsible for its positive effect on memory retention and recall speed. So the more bacosides, the less bacopa leaf we actually need.
Our current top rated stack uses 150mg of bacopa monnieri, but the concentration of bacosides is more than double that of the extract used in Neuro Boost.
So which is better?
Well, bacopa monnieri is known to cause intestinal discomfort when consumed at high doses. So the less actual leaf we consume the better. In that case, we want a higher potency concentrate and a smaller overall dosage size.
Ginkgo biloba is a superb brain function-supporting substance.
Ginkgo works by improving blood flow to the brain. This in turn allows for more efficient delivery of oxygen and nutrients to brain cells, which in turn leads to better mental performance. Proper functioning neural cells mean heightened cognitive performance.
The 75mg in Neuro Boost is about what we would expect to find in a middle-range, own-brand Ginkgo Biloba supplement sold in pretty much any health store.
Phosphatidylserine is a compound very similar to dietary fat in structure, properties and appearance.
It is a vital constituent of cell membranes. In fact, without PS, you would simply not be able to maintain your existing brain cells or create new ones; the membranes would not be able to form properly.
While we get plenty of PS from our regular diet (assuming you have a healthy, balanced diet), supplementation is a good way to ensure that your brain has everything it needs to function at its best.
The 100mg in Neuro Boost is absolutely perfect as far as we’re concerned.
The Rhodiola Rosea content is also well-apportioned.
The 50mg in Neuro Boost is sufficient for most people to get the benefits associated with rhodiola rosea supplementation: reduced anxiety, better mental performance while under stress, and reduced mental fatigue.
DMAE is a cholinergic compound. This means that it confers choline to the brain. Choline is the main precursor to acetylcholine, which is the main neurotransmitter involved in learning, memory, focus, as well as muscle contraction.
Raising choline levels in the brain is a good way to raise acetylcholine availability. And if you have plenty of acetylcholine ‘lying around’, then your brain has all of the tools it needs to function at its true potential.
The problem here is that DMAE is far from the most effective cholinergic compound we have. CDP-Choline and Alpha-GPC are both much more powerful choline-boosters. Even choline bitartrate, the simplest choline analogue, seems to us to be significantly more effective than DMAE at improving focus and learning capacity.
Caffeine anhydrous is just caffeine with all of the water molecules removed, making it more potent than regular caffeine on a pound-for-pound basis.
But 50mg is highly unlikely to give you a tangible energy boost.
We can only assume that by “clean energy”, Active Laboratories meant “weak energy”.
50mg is less caffeine than you are likely to find in a small cup of weak coffee; hardly enough to give you energy “all day long”.
While it is not enough to make a big difference, the presence of caffeine means that this stack is now unsuitable for people with a severe intolerance to caffeine. Active Laboratories have made Neuro Boost unsuitable for some people without delivering a big benefit to others; a lose-lose if you ask us.
So having looked at the formula in greater detail, we don’t think this natural brain booster is going to improve your focus, memory, and mood any more than the hundreds of similar stacks currently on sale.
Sure, it will probably enhance your cognitive function slightly. It will do so in more ways than one. But it is far from revolutionary, the effects will not be particularly pronounced, and you certainly wont get the same kind of lift you would while taking one of the best nootropic supplements.
-What Is Huperzine A & How Does It Work?-
Neuro Boost Side Effects
There are a few side effect concerns here. While our main issue with Neuro Boost is that ti is relatively weak, we think a few ingredients are liable to give some users trouble.
For starters, the caffeine content makes Neuro Boost totally unsuitable for people who react badly to stimulants, or those of you who already consume large amounts of caffeine by other means.
We don’t know why Active Laboratories have bothered to include 50mg of caffeine here; they have made their product unsuitable for some people, but for no added benefit to others.
DMAE is also associated with serious side effects. Many users take DMAE for long periods without problems, but others report it not working at all, and others still claim that it causes very uncomfortable side effects. Do your research before using.
Finally, we have Bacopa monnieri.
This stuff is incredibly safe and well-tolerated.
The only concern here is that, when taking amounts larger than 300mg per day, the risk of experiencing gastrointestinal discomfort increases. And of course, this doesn’t mean that 299mg is perfectly fine for everybody, while 301mg will give every side effects. It is a sliding scale, and everyone is different.
If you experience any digestive problems (bloating, excessive gas, etc) while using Neuro Boost, discontinue use immediately and see if side effects dissipate.
The side effects associated with consuming large amounts of bacopa monnieri are mild, of course, but they do exist!
Conclusion
Active Laboratories Neuro Boost contains many of the most potent, effective, and reliable natural nootropic substances known to man. For some ingredients, the doses are also pretty much ideal.
Yet the formula lacks some of the big, powerful nootropics that mark the difference between an average, middle-of-the-road stack and a genuinely great brain booster.
The choice of cholinergic is poor, and there isn’t a great deal in the way of long-term adaptation support. If they improved the potency of their bacopa extract, used a more powerful cholinergic like Alpha-GPC or CDP-Choline, and included some Lion’s Mane Mushroom or something like that, then Neuro Boost would be much better.
As it stands, this isn’t a very impressive supplement.
